Position Summary:

Utilizes civil engineering experience/knowledge in the design of projects consistent with the focus of the firm.

Primary Position Duties:

Perform civil engineering design calculations, sketches, technical comparisons and similar technical work as required by assignment.

Performs assignments designed to develop professional knowledge and abilities, requiring application of standard techniques, procedures, and criteria in carrying out a sequence of related engineering tasks; limited exercise of judgment is required on details or work and in making preliminary selections and adaptations of engineering alternatives

Using prescribed methods, performs specific and limited portions of a broader assignment of an experienced civil engineer

Applies standard practices and techniques in specific situations, adjusts and correlates data, recognizes discrepancies in results, and follows operations through a series of related detailed steps or processes

Assists in the preparation of improvement plans, specifications, supporting documents and permit applications for both private, public works, and government projects

Performs plan drafting using CADD software

Participates in project team meetings and follows procedures outlined in Project Management Standards manual

Assigns tasks to Engineering Technicians and Project Engineers, as necessary


Position Requirements:

Fluent English with reading, written and verbal communication skills, proficiency in AutoCAD Civil 3D, Microsoft Office Suite including, Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook, Teams and other video conferencing software. 

Ability to collect and analyze data, apply problem solving skills to specific projects, develop creative solutions, work alone or as part of a project team, and demonstrate attention to detail. 

Effective communication skills are essential for this position

Education or Skills:

Required:
Bachelor of Science Degree in Engineering
Current Driver’s License

Preferred:
Registration as an Engineer in Training
Minimum of three (3) years civil engineering experience
