Position Summary:

Primary Position Duties:

 

As a SimplyPEO Payroll Champion, will oversee and supervise the organization’s payroll functions, ensuring pay is processed on time, accurately, and in compliance with government regulations.

This fast-paced role includes: 

  • Implements, maintains, and reviews payroll processing systems to ensure timely and accurate processing of payroll transactions.

  • Act as a manager to establish and lead payroll team initiatives that improve processes, policies or procedures. 

  • Ensures accurate and timely processing of payroll updates including new hires, terminations, and changes to pay rates and effective communication of clients’ expectations and needs.

  • Work with third party service providers (payroll/system of record, timekeeping, pay cards, etc.) and software to optimize delivery of these services to our clients.

  • Comply with federal, state, and local legal requirements by studying existing and new legislation, advising management on needed actions.

  • Develop and implement standard operating procedures for the department

  • Interface with staff to identify and resolve system issues.

  • Document workflows while looking for continuous improvement.

  • Performs other duties as assigned.

  • High-level ability of accuracy and attention to detail is required.

  • Intermediate computer experience, as well as knowledge of Microsoft Office applications required.

  • Good written and verbal communication skills.

  • Self-motivated and able to perform job responsibilities with a minimum of supervision.

 

Education or Skills:

 

  • BA Preferred or five years in a similar role

  • Payroll, SHRM, Risk, Insurance licensed candidates are a plus 

  • Proficient in working within CRMs and ticket systems (Hubspot)
